Robyn Anne Piper: Week 13 of 208
Still plugging away-- slowly-- on my green and orange runner. I've got a "click counter" app on my phone now, to help me keep track of my row count and ensure that all my stripes are the same size. And my latest acquisition is a wooden yarn bowl, which fits right under the loom and keeps me organized. 😉 This week's song: "Rise" by Public Image Limited

"Slow and steady wins the race" A little more progress has been made on my St. Patrick's Day runner-- which will now have to wait to be displayed 'til next year-- but it's been slow going. I continue to hold the thought that any creativity is better than none, though.

Robyn Anne Piper: Week 11 of 208
As an affirmation of the idea that creativity trumps pain, I've started the weaving project that has been on hold since the end of February because of the issues with my neck and shoulder. I'm sick of putting off joy because I fear pain. It may be slow going, but I think it will be good for my soul.

This is just a placeholder, so I can come back and post a piece when I'm feeling up to it. I do have this week's song, though: " Life Is A Song " by Patrick Park

Robyn Anne Piper: Week 7 of 208
The loom is warped-- much to my shoulder's dismay-- but the rest of the St. Patrick's Day runner project is on hold until PT (hopefully) makes further weaving possible. This week's song has been an earworm all week, coming and going on an almost daily basis: XTC's "Mayor of Simpleton".

This week's submission is a haiku inspired by my stupid shoulder, which prevented me from warping my loom for my next project. 🤷♀️ Grand plans for TGAP Foiled by bodily treason. Deadline whooshes by. This week's song: "I Hope That I Get Old Before I Die" by They Might Be Giants

Vegan Wacky Cupcakes with Cocoa-dusted Vanilla Frosting This week's creative endeavor comes in edible form: Cupcakes for my coworker's birthday. This moist chocolate cake is known as wacky cake, depression cake, crazy cake, or war cake. (I even had an aunt who called it poor man's cake.) Regardless of which name you use, it is a recipe that does not require eggs or dairy, which is why it was popular during the Great Depression when those items were in short supply. Consideri

Robyn Anne Piper: Week 3 of 208
I finished my first solo weaving project: a table runner made with rainbow-colored yarn. (It was originally going to be a scarf, but I didn't make my warp long enough, so at 42" it makes a better table runner.) It is particularly appropriate that I finished it today, on the same day I received word that a friend had left this world. A friend to whom I sang "The Rainbow Connection" just two days ago as she lay in her hospice bed. A friend about whom we reminisced through tear

Robyn Anne Piper: Week 2 of 208
In the interest of keeping stress down and creativity flowing, I've decided that some of my submissions this time around will be "Workz in Progress,", rather than completed Workz. This is partly because I now have a rigid heddle loom and want to spend time weaving, but I'm also realistic enough to realize that I'm unlikely to finish most weaving projects in a single week. Fellow TwinGeek Tricia Hunt kindly taught me the basics of weaving on a rigid heddle loom in December, an

Robyn Anne Piper: Week 1 of 208
It was a whirlwind three-day festival of pain and excitement getting everything in place for this fourth iteration of TGAP so-- for my inaugural submission (see what I did there?)-- I give you... www.twingeekz.com the redux! Granted, the bones of this version of the site were formed back in February 2020 when we briefly discussed starting another round of TGAP, but then it languished for almost five years until Jim did what had to be done: he gave me a deadline. He did so
