Black bags of my trash,

Hopes it will be

someone else’s treasure.


Do you feel deserted  by my good will -

turtleneck sweater - acrylic

Knit I’d have never have bought myself?


The Amazon box full of her figurines,

Snow Babies I’d gifted her,


Convinced she loved them in her

smile.


Remembering as I abandoned them -

cigarette stained previously bumpy, white, and

trapped in happy memories, a childhood

Captured in porcelain and rosey painted cheeks.


Someone bought them anyway

to add to her collection.


Someone else’s Nana alive, still, and

Laughing over egg salad sandwiches

At the local Main Street Diner. Still.
